Triton Sund rebounded from a disappointing finish in the Elitlopp to capture the 2009 edition of the €160,000 Copenhagen Cup

in the racetrack of Charlottenlund-Denmark.

At the start Garland Kronos (Lufti Kolgjini) and Classic Grand Cru fight for the lead with the former taking control, followed inside by Inzaghi. An early move from the back of the pack by Triton Sund (Orjan Kihlstrom) challenged the leader, and the field remained in that order until the last 800 metres when Russel November launched a bid on the outside.

As the field hit the stretch, Garland Kronos tried to pull away but Triton Sund continued his charge on the outside and outkicked the leaders for a half-length with final average time of 1.12.8 - far of the race record of Kool du Caux 1.12.0 in 2007.

Garland Kronos managed to finish second with third going to Quarcio du Chene.

Trained by Stefan Hultman, Triton Sund is a son of trotting sire Viking Kronos out of Jade Sund (Sugarcane Hanover).
