A quartet of $18,000 conditioned classes topped the Thursday (June 13) evening action at Woodbine Mohawk Park and Flight Landing charted as the top performer in the conditioned trot with the swiftest time in 1:53.4.

Going to the gate from post three in the field of seven with only 10 starts under his belt in his young career, Flight Landing faced 13-1 odds. The longest shot on the board, The Canam Banker (23-1) and Tyler Borth took command of the timer from the start, followed by favoured Musical Ride (Sylvain Filion). Flight Landing and Tyler Jones got away third.

The Canam Banker remained firm in his position with a quarter in :27.4 and half in :56, uncontested. Jones was the first to pull a right line, sending Flight Landing to the outside en route to the three-quarters in 1:24, but continuing in third. Flight Landing and The Canam Banker were separated only by a nose at the top of the stretch. With a :29 final quarter, Flight Landing took the win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:53.4, a career best for the colt.

The triumph was only his second win in 11 career starts and first in three starts this year. Dustin Jones Stables Inc., Hebert Horses Inc., and Jean Pierre Barjon co-own the sophomore son of Tactical Landing and the Explosive Matter mare Fly Fly Selena. Flight Landing returned $27.70 to win.
