Cliffhanger Impresses Again

After failing to hit the ticket in his first two starts of the season, Cliffhanger has got his act together en route to posting back-to-back wins at Woodbine Mohawk Park for the tandem of driver Louis Philippe Roy and trainer Tony Alagna.

Cliffhanger got away fifth before making a sharp move to the lead in the backstretch. He showed a short lead while racing parked past the half in :55.3, but he brushed to the top and opening up a comfortable lead at the three-quarter pole in 1:23.2. A :29-second closing panel sealed the deal for the gelding who drew clear to win by three lengths in 1:52.2.

Sent off as the 4-5 favourite, the three-year-old son of Vintage Master-Mystery Game improved his lifetime record to 3-for-7 for Alagna Racing LLC. He’s banked just over $26,000 to date.
