CDP Feature To Doober Hoozzitz

Doober Hoozzitz won the Fillies and Mares Open Thursday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Terry Gallant did the driving for owner Fred Lamont, Calgary, Alberta and trainer Thane Mann. Doober Hoozzitz paced the mile in 1:57. Bunny Mach was second, with Dirt Track Momma finished third.

In other action, Casual Motion won the Easter Seals Pace for owner/driver Joey Pineau of Hunter River in 2:00.4.

Dianna Santanna, under the command of Brodie MacPhee recorded her fourth straight win for owner Doug MacPhee of Cornwall. The three-year-old filly is trained by Tom Weatherbie and remains perfect in her 2013 campaign.

Newcomer Abundaspin captured the trot class for driver Harold Shepherd. The trotter is owned by Mikaela Lustic of Warren Grove. The time of the mile was 2:02.2.

Wildcats Terror torched the track with a blistering 1:56.2 mile. Jason Hughes was in the bike for owners Barry, Kevin and Trevor Doyle of Earnscliffe.

Hughes and Kenny Arsenault had driving doubles on the night.

Racing returns Saturday at 6 p.m.
