Gural Waiting On NJ Gov.; Cantor Out

Jeff Gural has gone on the record as saying that he is waiting on a revised memorandum of understanding from the State of New Jersey to take over control of the Meadowlands

Racetrack, and that he perceives a September, 2011 takeover date.

According to a report by The Record, Gural is "shooting for a takeover on September 1."

The article also states that Cantor Gaming, one of Gural's partners in the revitalization of the Meadowlands, has pulled out. Gural is reportedly not concerned about the turn of events

Come Out For Ladies' Night

In other Meadowlands happenings, get the girls together and go home winners at the track's Ladies Night on Saturday, June 25.

Racetrack admission is free and ladies drink for half-price all night long. The 95.5 WPLJ FM Ladies Lounge will feature live music, prize drawings and a spa day giveaway from 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at Long Shots Bar on the Clubhouse Level.

Track newbies can learn how to bet in a fun, relaxed atmosphere at the Chocolate and Winners Handicapping Seminar, hosted by harness racing expert and television personality Shannon DiAntonio. The $20 per person package includes unlimited dessert buffet, choice of drink, program and $5 betting voucher. Meadowlands track photographer Michael Lisa will host the second annual Lisa Photo Stride For the Cure Race that evening to raise funds for breast cancer treatment and awareness. Meadowlands drivers will compete in the race with autographed pink whips, which fans will be able to bid on in a silent auction.
