Keith Clark won six-of-six races in Saturday’s Pick 6 wager at Alberta Downs, which included a sweep of all four Alberta Sires Stakes Alberta Princess eliminations

for three-year-old pacing fillies.

Clark began his six-race win streak with the popular Wrangler Raine in the first Alberta Princess elim. The daughter of Camystic-Raines Lucey left from Post 5 and worked her way to the lead past the half before kicking away by three and a half lengths to score in 2:00.2 over a track rated ‘good’. Finishing second was 42-1 longshot Westwood Cowgirl (Jamie Gray) with Spring Baby (Gary Clark) third.

Wrangler Raine has won her last three of seven starts this season for breeder Dr. Maurice Stewart and Maureen Stewart of Leduc and Rene Goulet and Glenda Smith of Edmonton, AB. The lion’s share of the $8,350 purse pushed her seasonal earnings to $15,551.

Favourite Queen Of Swing captured the following elimination for Clark, which was marred by an accident. The daughter of As Promised-Western Appeal left from Post 6 and advanced to the lead past the opening quarter. She held off the first over challenger, Devon Cream (Jamie Gray), by a half length to win in 1:59.3. Nakednakednaked (Kelly Hoerdt) finished back in third.

Owned and bred by Clark, the victory was Queen Of Swing’s third in 11 starts and the winner’s share of the $8,650 purse lifted her bankroll to $23,835.

During the race at the halfway point, Mood Light (Rod Hennessy) and Assured (Brandon Campbell) were involved in an accident in the backfield along with Rays Revenge (Warren Grant), who did complete the race although distanced. Both Hennessy and Campbell did drive later on the card. Trot Insider will provide more details on the incident if made available.

Clark won the following two races with the Lee Barton-trained Life Of Rocknroll (1:58) and his trainee Sealedwithapromise (1:58), before clicking with favourite W Jean in the next $8,350 Alberta Princess elim. Leaving from Post 6, the daughter of Camystic-Kelsey Victoria cleared the lead after the opening quarter and held off 22-1 Chupacabra (Doug Chappell), who after trailing the field, unleashed a :27.4 final frame to get up for second. W Jean prevailed by a nose in 2:00.1. Tap Out (Rod Hennessy) finished third off a pocket trip.

W Jean, now two-for-seven this year with $11,768 banked, is owned by Dr. Maurice Stewart and Maureen Stewart along with Gordon Rumpel of Calgary and Blair Corbeil of Beaumont, A.B

Last Year’s Battle of Alberta Super Final winner Rossridge Fortune won the fastest and final $8,650 eliminaton for Clark. The daughter of Brandons Cowboy-Whippet left from Post 6 and immediately took command of the field. She went down the road to win for the second time in eight seasonal starts in 1:58.1. Fan favourite River Lass (Kelly Hoerdt) journeyed first over to finish two and a quarter lengths behind and Jusluky Bobbi J (Bill Tainsh, Jr.) rounded out the top three.

Clark shares ownership of Rossridge Fortune, a winner of $19,000 this year, with Robert Jones of Slave Lake and John Hind of Calgary, AB.

The Clark Pick 6 (5-6-4-5-6-6) paid $698.90.
