A pair of Prospect Series divisions, worth an $8,000 purse each, went to the gate on Tuesday (June 11) evening at Georgian Downs with three-year-old pacing fillies on display.
Wheres My Phone maintained a 1-1/2 length gap throughout the mile to win her division from head-to-toe with Travis Henry holding the lines for Gregg McNair.
Henry sent the Big Jim - Lucky Louisa filly to the top and she set herself on cruise control through stanzas in :29, :58, and 1:27.2. Pocket-sitting Stilton Gold (Jason Ryan) gave heavy chase down the stretch, but Wheres My Phone prevailed in 1:56.3 by a half length. Ready For Fun (Samuel Fillion) completed the triactor.
Wheres My Phone ($2.80) has won set a record of 2-1-0 in three starts for her young sophomore campaign. In 13 career starts, the filly has won five races for owners and breeders Ian Fleming and Gregg McNair.
Kittys Column took the second division off a pocket trip with Henry in the bike for James McConnell.
Henry sent the McConnell student to the top, but it was Sauble Lila (Ryan) to take command of the timer. As Sauble Lila dictated the tempo with points in :28.2, :58.2, and 1:26.4, Kittys Column kept her within arms reach. Down the stretch, Kittys Column used her saved energy to defeat the pacesetter by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:55.1. Tomi Senorita (Brett MacDonald) completed the top three finishers.
The sophomore daughter of Sportswriter - Kitty Kitty Hawk is owned by McConnell. Kittys Column moved her seasonal record to 4-2-0 in six starts as she notched for seventh career tally in a new career mark. She returned $3.60 to win.
