The undefeated three-year-old Camotion filly, Brief Motion, extended her win streak to six on Friday night in her eighth race conditioning assignment at Rideau Carleton Raceway for trainer-driver Guy Gagnon
.
Sent postward as the 1-4 popular choice after winning her last race on May 28 by over nine lengths in 1:54.3, Brief Motion left from Post 4 and carved out fractions of :27.3, :58.2 and 1:27.2 en route to victory in 1:55.4.
V C Asteroid (John MacDonald) attempted to squeeze up the rail from the pocket in the stretch but Brief Motion rebuffed that challenge and hit the wire three-quarters of a length in front. Dixie Allstar (Gord Brown) followed along in third.
Brief Motion was purchased for $4,000 at the 2008 Canadian Open Yearling Sale by Ecuries Guy Gagnon Inc. of Gatineau, QC. Unraced at two, the bay filly has won all six of her starts since qualifying in mid-April to earn $20,950.
