Ontario deputy premier / minister of energy and infrastructure George Smitherman yesterday dropped by
Georgian Downs for a visit.
According to an article by Sun Media, Smitherman visited Georgian's OLG Slots expansion prior to heading up to Casino Rama for a tour of that facility.
Smitherman also spoke to county officials about the proposed Barrie-Innisfil Boundary Adjustment Act, 2009, introduced last Thursday at Queen's Park. If passed, the act would see Barrie's borders extend into Innisfil next year, gobbling up 5,664 acres of town land containing almost 200 homes and 40 farms on mostly rural and agricultural land.
Smitherman commented on the situation in the Sun Media report. Click here to read the article in its entirety.
