After a lackluster performance in final of the Arthur J. Cutler Memorial at The Meadowlands on May 17, Intimidate resurfaced and redeemed himself with a powerful performance in Tuesday’s $34,000 Preferred Trot at Mohawk Racetrack.

Sylvain Filion was reunited with Intimidate, and he let the Luc Blais trainee settle off the speed while Fearless Man, Mego Moss and Slip Into Glide took turns on the lead through fractions of :26.3, :57 and 1:25.1. Filion got his charge into the flow in the back half of the mile, and when he cut the gelding loose in the lane he had no problem rolling past his foes in deep stretch. A :27-second closing quarter was good enough for him to win by three-quarters of a length over Mego Moss in 1:53.1. Third prize was earned by Slip Into Glide.

The five-year-old son of Justice Hall-Fabulous Tag, who is owned by Quebec partners Determination and Judith Farrow, won for the first time in four starts this season. The 22-time winner boosted his lifetime earnings to $624,890 with the win.
