Art I Special Finds Success At Inverness

Former Ontario claimer Art I Special earned his first Maritime victory on Sunday afternoon in the top pacing class at Inverness Raceway.

Making his second start for new owner Randy Copley of Inverness, N.S. in the $1,000 Winners Over Pace, Art I Special prevailed by a length and three-quarters over pacesetter Truth Or Dare in 1:58 flat. Mitchs Ceilidh finished four and three-quarter lengths behind in third.

Redmond Doucet drove the five-year-old Artsplace-Annie Your A Card gelding to his fourth victory of the season and 23rd lifetime. He paid $4.20 to win as the bettors' choice.
