Hammered down to 1-5, Liteningonthebeach threw down a swift 1:22.1 three-quarters but could not shake the pocket-sitting Boozin N Cruisin, who inched closer in the stretch. But the four-year-old Downbytheseaside-Peanutbettor Shake gelding dug in for Aaron Merriman and downed Boozin N Cruisin by a neck, with Be Dazzled Lou A third.
Bill Bercury trains Liteingonthebeach, who boosted his lifetime bankroll to $289,443, for Renee Bercury.
