The sophomore Betterthancheddar filly Mist Amber made easy pickings of the $8,600 featured pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Tuesday night (May 9).
Leaving from the pylon post, driver Tyler Borth pushed with Mist Amber off the wings but let Bettor Deal by into the backstretch. Borth promptly pulled and circled Mist Amber to the top through a :28.2 first quarter and cruised through the remainder. With Life Speaks mounting a mild first-over challenge to a :59.1 half, Mist Amber coasted through three-quarters in 1:28 and wrapped the 1:58 mile scooting 2-1/4 lengths clear of Bettor Deal. Life Speaks held third and Getitgetitgotit was fourth.
John Pentland owns and trains Mist Amber, a now five-time winner from 14 starts and an earner of $40,640. She paid $2.60 to win.
