Bestofbest Hanover has a pedigree that many people would drool over, and on Sunday night at Rideau Carleton Raceway it was more than just pedigree specialists fawning over the sophomore

.

The majority of the betting public was convinced the son of Western Hanover-Bunny Lake was worthy of being sent off as the 1-5 favourite, and the Gabriel Boily trainee didn’t disappoint.

Bestofbest Hanover, who is listed at 65-1 in Trot Magazine's Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book, went to the front and didn’t look back en route to an eye-catching tally in his $7,100 assignment. Melanie Plourde rated the pacer through fractions of :28.1, :59.3 and 1:28.3 before firing home in :27.1 en route to the 4-1/4 lengths score in 1:55.4.

It was the 2011 debut for Bestofbest Hanover, who assembled a 3-0-1 record in last year’s five-start campaign. L Ecurie Triple P Inc of Quebec owns the colt, who was purchased for $27,000 from the 2009 Harrisburg Yearling Sale.
