The Florida Amateur Driving Association designated April 14 as the Harness Horse Hall of Fame and Museum Night at Pompano Park. That evening, the FADA donated $2,000 to the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, which is located in Goshen, NY.

Museum president Larry DeVan and trustee David McDuffee were on hand to receive the ‘big cheque’ from Pompano’s John Berry and members of the amateur driving club.

Four divisions were held during the special race card. Veteran amateur driver – and former USHWA and Harness Racing Museum Amateur Driver of the Year -- Dein Spriggs and successful newcomer Roy Dinges each won two races.

The races are part of the Amateur Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame series created by Steve Oldford and Dein Spriggs to raise money and awareness for the museum. The series will continue on Hambletonian weekend at the Meadowlands Racetrack. The series will then move to upstate New York at Goshen Historic Track during Grand Circuit week. The races will then continue at Lexington’s Red Mile before the grand finale takes place at Ohio’s Delaware County Fair on Little Brown Jug Day.
