After competing in the Open classes across New York state for the last year, Knocking Around broke through for a win in the top class at Tioga Downs, winning Sunday's $12,000 Open Pace.

Sing For Me George (Corey Braden) would take charge to the :27.1 first quarter. Knocking Around and driver Jim Marohn, Jr. would take the lead just before the :55.1 half and then never look back. After a 1:22.4 third panel, Knocking Around was able to seal the deal with a :28.1 closer to trip the timer in 1:51, nearly two lengths better than favoured Andreios Kardia (Aaron Byron), who closed well for second. Quality Closer (Rick Dane) would finish third.

Owned by David McNeight Jr. and trained by Courtney McNeight, Knocking Around (Western Terror - So Completely) boasts a solid 4-3-5 summary from 13 seasonal starts with $42,070 in purses.

Live harness racing action returns to Tioga Downs on Friday, starting at 6:50 p.m.
