After having finished off the board in last week’s $18,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot at the Meadows, a son of Angus Hall wanted a bit of revenge on Tuesday, May 6 at the Pennsylvania raceway – and he got it.
Trailing by five lengths at the half, Tamarind unleashed his customary late kick to capture the Meadows’ $18,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot.
Tamarind followed the live first-over cover of Therapeutic before charging wide through the lane for driver Aaron Merriman. He scored in 1:54, one and a quarter-length better than the rallying Trustworthy Kid, who was pinned on the cones until late. Therapeutic hung on for show.
Bill Bercury trains and owns Tamarind, a six-year-old who now boasts career earnings of $525,929.
