Marietta Hall made her winning move as the field moved into the backstretch and cruised to victory in $32,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace at Woodbine Racetrack on Friday night

.

Marietta Hall and driver Keith Oliver left alertly from the inside post position but let the roan mare, Lady Latte (Rick Zeron), take over command as she charged up from her outer post position before the :26.4 opening quarter mark.

Oliver pulled the pocket and sent Marietta Hall right back out as they moved into the backstretch and the duo reached the half in :55.4, followed by three-quarters in 1:24.

Cheap Motel (Jack Moiseyev) attempted a first over bid from fifth but Marietta Hall shook off that challenger around the final turn and cruised to the wire in 1:52.1 with Lady Latte following one length behind. Keepers Destiny (Mark MacDonald) rounded out the top three.

Marietta Hall, a seven-year-old Cambest-Mib Hanover mare, returned $4.20 to her backers for the win, which was her fourth in 12 seasonal starts. The 28-time career winner has banked close to $68,000 this year and over $580,000 lifetime. She is trained by Tony Montini for Ontario owners Albina Montini, Paul Giammichele, William Rogers and Big Als Stables Inc.
