Poof K, a five-year-old son of Kadabra, will look to capture his biggest win of his career when he begins in the $50,000 Swing Into Spring Series final on Monday at Woodbine Racetrack

.

Trained by Richard Moreau, the six-time winner will begin from post nine for driver Sylvain Filion. Although winless from 14 starts this season, Filion hopes that will change at the Rexdale oval.

“He raced really well in his last start,” Filion said. “Richard has only had this horse a few starts, but he likes what he sees and so do I. Time will tell what this horse is made of, but hopefully we can get a good piece of it in the final.”

Poof K has banked $114,750 lifetime for owner-breeder Robert Key of Leechburg, Pennsylvania. With an outside post assigned, Filion is hoping for one thing to happen in the rich final.

“Anytime you’re in a race and draw the outside, you can only hope for hot fractions,” he said. “My horse doesn’t fire off the gate the best, so we’ll need a little luck, but it’s horse racing and anything can happen.”

Poof K has had a busy schedule so far this season. The bay has participated in the Glorys Comet Series, Don Mills Series and now the Swing Into Spring.

“He’s a respectable race horse,” Filion said. “Sure, there are horses out there who may be faster or better, then again, he’s better than a lot of horses too. He’s the type of horse who will be around for years to come.”

The $50,000 final will line up as follows:

1. Revenue Agent - Mike Saftic
2. Incredable Frank - Doug McNair
3. Rockys First - Jason Brewer
4. A Crown For Lindy - Randy Waples
5. Roush Hanover - Yves Filion
6. Order By Roosevelt - Paul MacDonell
7. Undercover Strike - Jack Moiseyev
8. Bullet - Keith Oliver
9. Poof K - Sylvain Filion
10. Dukester - Chris Christoforou
AE. Amigo De Grande - Roger Mayotte
