Owner David Lumsden and trainer Philip Coleman scored a pair of wins at Grand River on Monday night.
Team Mate kicked off the double with a gate-to-wire victory in race nine. The four-year-old pacer is an Astreos brother to another Lumsden horse, the million-dollar mare Illusionist.
Next up was the small but mighty Are You Pan Enough in the $12,800 feature pace. The veteran campaigner sailed four-wide in the stretch to pass the field for a narrow score over Native Roots and Kerrs Light. The effort marked the 10-year-old Artsplace son’s 46th lifetime win.
The two wins earned Paul MacKenzie a driving triple on the card, having won by a nose with Inscribed in race three.
A five-length win in Grand River’s feature trot on Monday night gave race favourite Gostreet her seventh victory of the season for trainer/driver Lyle MacArthur. The results were an exact replica of the week before, as Gostreet overtook runner-up rival Canbec Dynamo at the three-quarter marker to clinch the win.
The five-year-old Angus Hall mare is a winner of 15 races and $138,000 for owners Linda Wellwood and Tammy Aspden.
Racing continues at Grand River Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
