Three-year-old Darbyshire posted the fastest time in any of the $18,000 features at Woodbine Mohawk Park after winning wire-to-wire in 1:54.4 on Thursday evening (May 4).

The Matthew Bax trainee was guided through fractions of :28, :58.2 and 1:26.1 by driver James MacDonald before crossing the wire 5-1/2 lengths in front of The Great Reset (Lorne House). Overpayment (Doug McNair) followed in third. Darbyshire paid $7.30 to win.

Darbyshire is a winner of five races in nine career starts with $46,900. The victory was a new lifetime mark for the gelded son of Muscle Mass. Bax Stable, Glengate Farms, Goin To The Show Stable and Happy Trails Stables co-own Darbyshire.

Stonebridge Bravo posted the second fastest time in one of the $18,000 feature condition classes in a career-best time after overcoming 29-1 odds from post nine.

As the gate pulled away, Stonebridge Bravo hung back, getting away last in the field of eight. Bob McClure and Stonebridge Bravo remained on the rail, 13-1/2 lengths off the leader, through the quarter in :27.3 and half in :57.2. McClure pulled his right line just before the three-quarters in 1:27.2. Down the stretch, the Dagfin Henriksen trainee was four-wide and managed to pass his rivals to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:55.4. Enola (Tyler Borth) was second and Angel of My Dreams (James MacDonald) was third. Stonebridge Bravo paid $60 to win.

Stonebridge Bravo is a three-year-old daughter of Muscle Mass. The filly, owned by Alan Janik, has had two wins, a second and a third in six career starts.
