The appeal by the State of Delaware to be able to offer expanded sports wagering within its borders was rejected yesterday in U.S. Supreme Court

Delaware is currently allowed to offer parlay wagering on National Football League football, but it is looking to be able to offer single-event, sportsbook-type wagering, the same as which is legal in Nevada.

According to a report on philly.com, the justices denied Delaware's petition for judicial review yesterday without comment, leaving in place a ruling last fall by the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia.

The article also cites a lawmaker in New Jersey as saying that the Delaware ruling would "have no legal effect" on New Jersey efforts to obtain the right to offer legalized sports wagering within the Garden State.
