Schooner stole the show in the top pacing class at Northside Downs on Saturday afternoon while John Kennedy was the leading driver of the day with five wins through 12 races.
Owned and trained by Anthony Beaton, Schooner went wire-to-wire in 2:00.3, defeating last week's winner and odds-on favourite Carol Alice by two and a half lengths. The victory wrapped up a driving triple for Greg Sparling.
Kennedy's winning crusade began in the opener with Dusty Lane Royal for trainer Leonard McLellan. The Marion Bridge, N.S. reinsman also won with a pair of Heather Hawkins trainees, Electric Prince and Jackson County, as well as Mirages Magic for Irwin Claener and My Tie Wind for Tim Gillis.
