Cruising off a pocket trip, Armycaptin Hanover capitalized and downed 6-5 favourite Tiempo Hanover in the $8,100 featured pace at Century Downs on Sunday (May 30).

Trainer-driver Kelly Hoerdt secured the second spot from the pylon post with Armycaptin Hanover as Tiempo Hanover took command to a :27.3 opening quarter. Teimpo Hanover continued on the point unchallenged to a :55.4 half and through three-quarters in 1:23.3 while I Ama Rocket angled off the pylons from third. Off the turn Tiempo Hanover held a length advantage, but Hoerdt hustled Armycaptin Hanover after the pacesetter late and scooted to a one-and-three-quarter length victory in 1:53.1. I Ama Rocket, recouping little ground, gave chase in third.

A five-year-old gelding by Captaintreacherous, Armycaptin Hanover won his second race from five starts this season and his 14th from 57 overall, earning $80,074. Hoerdt co-owns the $10.00 winner with Blair Corbeil.
