The fun keeps rolling at the Meadowlands Racetrack in June with an action-packed promotions schedule in addition to live harness racing every Friday and Saturday night, with a 6:20 p.m. post time.
Every live race night, fans can enter Horseplay. Guests can pick up a free horse at the promotions table and throw the horse into the car for a chance to win $100 USD and an entry into the Friday, Aug. 2 drawing for a brand new 2024 Toyota Camry.
On Saturday, June 1, the track's famous Wiener Dog Derby returns. This family-friendly event features Dachshunds racing at the track between live harness racing. This year, 10 doggie heats will kick off at 6 p.m., and the Wiener Dog final will take place on the track at 10 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
Another $5K Handicapping Contest will take place on Saturday, June 8. There is no entry fee ($100 USD live money bankroll required) for players, and the prize pool is a guaranteed $5,000 USD – fully funded by the Meadowlands Racetrack. Players must register/check in at the Clubhouse Lobby by 6:20 p.m. A $100 betting card is required to participate in this live money/wagering contest.
On Saturday, June 15, the annual BBQ Extravaganza returns to the track. There will be $2,500 USD up for grabs in the Battle, with $500 USD top prizes for the best brisket, chicken, pulled pork, ribs and the fan favourite. More than 25 food trucks will be onsite serving everything from BBQ to empanadas, burgers, ice cream, bacon and more. Admission and parking are free.
Also on Saturday, June 15, Meadowlands will offer Executive Chef Chris Burnett’s Five-Course Caribbean Cocktail Dinner. The menu features conch fritters paired with a bajan rum punch, arroz con pollo paired with a mai tai, jerk chicken with a mojito, fish stew paired with a cuba libre, and rum cake served with a pina colada. This dinner is $69.95 USD plus tax and gratuity and includes a live racing program and a $10 voucher for reservations.
On Saturday, June 22, the vino will flow at Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment for the Meadowlands Wine Festival. Doors open for VIP Admission ($65) at 4 p.m., General Admission ($45 in advance or $50 at the door) at 5 p.m., and wine is poured until 9 p.m. Fest-goers will experience an evening of great wines from around the world, live harness racing, music and food.
Closing out the month on Saturday, June 29 will be the Brendan Byrne Brawl produced by Independent Superstars of Pro Wrestling. This family-friendly live pro wrestling event features seven action-packed matches, including Crowbar vs. ISPW champion Rey Calitri and Big Vito vs. Rick Recon. The wrestling matches will take place in between the live harness racing. Tickets are just $20 in advance or $30 the day of the event.
