Read The Proposal laid down the speed in Monday’s $10,000 Open Pace at Century Downs, but Iwontdothatagain got all the glory thanks to his last-second heroics in the featured tilt.
Iwontdothatagain got away third for trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt while Read The Proposal shot to the front and threw down panels of :29.2, :58 and 1:25.3. Pacers went into sprint-mode over the final quarter, and when the dust settled it was Iwontdothatagain coming out on top by half a length over Read The Proposal in 1:53.2. Third prize was earned by Pillage And Burn.
Hoerdt shares ownership on the six-year-old son of Stonebridge Regal-Island Nessie with Ed Keryliuk of Edmonton, AB. The gelding won for the fourth time in his last five outings. He owns a 6-2-1 record from 10 trips to the track this season and his bankroll for the year sits at $27,872. The 12-time winner has banked more than $80,000 to date.
