Kevin Hough and Witch And Famous took down the featured $14,000 Open Handicap Trot on Friday night at Tioga Downs

.

The duo sat in the three hole through fractions of :28.1, :57.4, and 1:27 before finding racing room late in the stretch. Levitys Pride and Kyle Di Benedetto had a two length lead at the top of the stretch, but Kevin Hough urged Witch And Famous late to nail them on the wire. The mile of 1:57.4 established a new lifetime mark for the seven-year-old son of Corleone - Love Code.

Maureen Aldrich trains Witch And Famous for Woody Hoblitzell of Destin, Florida. It was the third win in thirteen starts for Witch And Famous, and with the winner’s share of the $14,000 purse increased his seasonal earnings to more than $32,000.

Levitys Pride and Kyle Di Benedetto hung on for second, while Bull Durham (Mike Merton) and Stars And Sites (Bruce Clarke) could not be separated in a photo for third.

The victory in the Open Trot was one of two wins on the night for Kevin Hough, while Andy Santeramo posted a driving triple, and Jimmy Marohn Jr. a double.
