Another one of last year’s O’Brien Award winners is scheduled to resurface on Friday morning, but plans could change depending on how much longer Mother Nature feels the need to leave the faucet on
.
Federal Flex, last year’s O’Brien Award winner in the Two-Year-Old Trotting Colt of the Year category, has drawn into tomorrow morning’s fourth qualifier at Mohawk Racetrack for trainer Jeff Gillis and driver Jody Jamieson. The son of Muscles Yankee Scully FBI hasn’t had a charted line since his third place finish in the $700,000 Breeders Crown final at The Meadowlands on November 29, 2008. During his freshman campaign, the colt banked $560,818 and put together a 5-2-1 record from just nine starts. He is owned in partnership by Federal Flex Stable [Jody Jamieson and Jeff Gillis], Ken Henwood, Al Libfeld and Marvin Katz.
Jamieson will also handle Dali tomorrow morning. The four-year-old son of Real Artist – Armbro Tea blazed the Mohawk oval last Friday morning in 1:52.1. Art Colony will line up on the gate in the same qualifier for trainer Casie Coleman and driver Randy Waples. That three-year-old son of Artsplace – Asleep Onthe Beach makes his second qualifier of the season after winning in 1:56 last Friday morning.
Trainer Kevin O’Reilly is also scheduled to spin a pair of talented fillies tomorrow morning. Stablemates Mystic River and SOS Respect are scheduled to go behind the gate in separate events in what will be their first charted lines since finishing first and second in the $130,000 OSS Gold Series final for three-year-old trotting fillies at Mohawk Racetrack on May 17.
