After winning his elimination with a blowout performance, Outlawgrabbingears dominated his competition again to take the $47,500 ABSS Alberta Plainsman final by four lengths in 1:53.1 on Sunday, May 26 at Century Downs.

Leaving from post 7, Outlawgrabbingears cleared command from Major Winker moving to a :28.3 opening quarter and faced little challenge through a :57.3 half and a 1:25.4 third quarter. Crackle N Burn, away seventh early, parked the mile and advanced uncovered into third circling the final turn and gave chase to the three-year-old Smart Shark gelding through the lane. Major Winker gained ground to the inside to take second while Crackle N Burn settled for third.

Trained and driven by Paul Davies, Outlawgrabbingears won his fourth race from five starts this season and his 11th from 14 overall, earning $173,625. Davies shares ownership of the $4.00 winner with Nicole Davies and Deborah Pinel.

Amy Henry, who acquired Jim Marino's barn following his training injury back in March, collected her first victory in the preceding race with Boiling Oar. The four-year-old Shadow Play gelding, sent as the 6-5 favourite, stalked the pace before pouncing on the tiring leaders moving to the final turn. Dave Hudon steered the $4.30 winner for the J J J Stables.
