Dave Brower from The Meadowlands on-air crew recently had a chance to sit down and talk shop with driver Tyler Miller during a recent episode of ‘In The Sulky’.
The 23-year-old son of Andy and Julie Miller embarked on his driving career in 2018, and he’s come a long way since racking up a pair of wins from the seven starts he had in that first year of sitting in the sulky.
“I’m proud of where I came from,” said Miller. “I’ve grown a lot and hopefully I can grow some more.”
Miller took down his first lifetime win in a GSY Club race at The Meadowlands, and it’s a victory that clearly was a memorable one for the young reinsman.

“I had the biggest grin on my face knowing that I’d won at The Meadowlands,” admitted Miller. “Just because of the history of this place and there’s been so many horses and great horsemen that have won in this track and it was just great to be a part of it.”
Like most in the industry, Miller was bit by the bug early. And with his pedigree, it was a no brainer he’d find success in a sport that has deep Miller roots.
“In my sophomore year of high school I kind of started working in the barn full time,” recalled Miller. “Then when college came around I started driving in the amateurs and getting more experience doing that. Then once I won a few races I was hooked.”
Miller has demonstrated a solid work ethic both in his studies as a student and now in the racebike as he spars with many of the best reinsmen on the planet.
“Jeff Gural has done a really amazing job putting together an amazing driving colony that is definitely one of the best in the nation,” said Miller. “To be able to look over and see guys like Dexter [Dunn], or David [Miller] or Timmy [Tetrick] or anyone of those guys driving next to you it’s just surreal. I watch the races all the time from The Meadowlands and all over and try to learn something from everybody. I’d like to really experience everything with my parents and take a lot from them and learn something from every drive and everybody that I’m around and use that to the best of my advantage.”
