Three horses and drivers were involved in a racing accident Thursday night in the fourth race at Harrington Raceway.
The incident occurred shortly after the half-mile mark when Pocket Party (Tyler Davis) appeared to get rough gaited in close quarters with Bill Board (Victor Kirby) and Art Of Fire (Jim Morand). All three drivers were thrown from their horses and one of the horses went down.
Davis escaped injury and returned to driving duty later in the program, while Morand (shoulder) and Kirby (arm) were taken to Milford Memorial Hospital for further observation. All of the horses involved were OK. No further information was available at the time of this release.
Kirby, the 2016 leading Harrington Raceway driver and is third at the current meet, while Morand ranks among the sport's top 40 in all-time wins with nearly 9,500.
