Atoning for a break last week, Little Town Road zipped to the front from post five and never had an anxious moment as she captured the Thursday, May 23 co-feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $16,301 conditioned trot.

Players forgave last week’s miscue, hammering Little Town Road down to 1-5. The three-year-old daughter of Fordham Road-A Little Laid Back responded by blazing the final quarter in :27.3 for Brady Brown to secure her 1:55.3 victory. The pocket-sitting Lexi B was second, a length back, with Norma Pearl third. Roger Hammer bred, trains and owns Little Town Road, who boosted her lifetime bankroll to $130,722.

In Thursday’s other co-features, Momoni De Vie scored easily on the front end for trainer/driver Aaron Johnston and owners Jennifer Johnston and Brian Taylor, taking a $16,301 conditioned trot in a career-best 1:55.1. Finest Moment was second, beaten 2-1/2 lengths, while Brayden Victories completed the ticket. The four-year-old International Moni-Fan Favourite gelding soared over $100,000 in lifetime earnings.

Sarah Said overpowered the field from the start, triumphing in 1:52.4. Eric Goodell drove for trainer Garry Martin, who owns the three-year-old daughter of Well Said-Hidden Play with B Kleinberg Racing and Lee Unkefer. Play For Me and Sea Storm rounded out the ticket.

Brady Brown, Shawn Johnston, Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and trainer Lester Mullet each fashioned a double on the 13-race program.

On Friday, May 24, The Meadows will introduce its special summer post time of 5:10 p.m. that will be in effect each Friday through the warm-weather months. Friday’s card features a pair of carryovers: $1,106.90 in the Early Pentafecta (race four), $1,058.86 in the Pick 5 (race nine).
