Mohawk Racetrack kicked off its 2014 Summer and Fall meet Thursday evening, and driver Jody Jamieson took over right where he left off at the end of the Winter and Spring meet at Woodbine Racetrack.
Jamieson, who led all drivers when it came to winning races during the recently-concluded meet at Woodbine, nabbed a three-win performance to lead all drivers on Thursday’s opening night program.
Weatherly gave Jamieson his first trip to victory lane thanks to a 1:54.2 triumph in Race 2. The Murray Brethour pupil survived a first-over journey to win by a half-length margin as the 1-5 favourite. Jamieson then came right back to victory lane with Lost In Panslation in Race 4. The veteran drew clear to win in 1:53.1.
Jamieson completed the hat trick when he found a late opening at the rail with Cluster Hanover in Race 9. The Jack Darling pupil turned a two-hole trip into a 1:52.4 score.
Honourable mention goes out to drivers Chris Christoforou and James MacDonald for nabbing two-win performances on the 11-race card.
