Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment has announced that on Saturday, May 31, Victor Espinoza, jockey of California Chrome, will be making an appearance at The Meadowlands.
California Chrome will attempt to become thoroughbred racing’s first Triple Crown winner since 1978 on Saturday, June 7 in the Belmont Stakes.
Espinoza will be at The Meadowlands beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 and will be signing autographs of special California Chrome posters. He will also make an appearance on The Meadowlands television show and make a winner’s circle presentation.
"I wanted to give our fans the chance to meet Victor Espinoza," said Meadowlands Chairman Jeff Gural. "This is a rare thing in the sport of horse racing and our fans will have an opportunity to wish him well in his quest for a Triple Crown. We are all rooting for him."
The event is made possible through the sponsorship of “Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program, Purple Haze Center.”
This exciting promotion coincides with “Jerseyfest,” one of The Meadowlands most popular nights of the year.
