An accident involving most of the fifth race field occurred at Rosecroft Raceway on Tuesday night sending at least three drivers to hospital.

The accident occurred as the field approached the three-quarters mark when the leading Pinderonabender (William Carter) broke stride and fell causing a multi-horse pile up involving Trophy Hunter (Donnie Russell), Go Easy On Me (Charles Perry Jr.), Boccio (Justin Hite), Great Mystery (Justin Brenneman), So Reserved (Justin Vincent), and Brighton Bay One (George Polk Jr.).

Only the trailing horses in the race, Sharpest Edge (Kim Vincent) and Brave Hearted (Christopher Offutt), completed the race, which was declared a No Contest.

Early reports indicate two drivers were transported to hospital via helicopter and another was taken by ambulance. The injured drivers include Carter, Hite and Russell.

Trot Insider will update this story as more details become available.
