With a little less than a month remaining until this year’s Pepsi North America Cup at Mohawk Racetrack, trainers Blair Burgess and Bob McIntosh have lightly-raced youngsters making steady progress in their quest to go with the big boys

Burgess' colt’s name is On The Radar, and for the second consecutive the son of Western Hanover-Arts Reality turned in a 1:52.3 victory on the WEG circuit. He unleashed an impressive rally from off-the-pace to win at Woodbine in 1:52.3 on May 16, and he halted the teletimer in front-stepping fashion in a time of 1:52.3 at Mohawk Racetrack on Sunday evening.
Jody Jamieson got away second with On The Radar, who is listed at 50-1 in Trot Magazine's Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book, and he held that position until just past the quarter pole. Once in command of the tempo, On The Radar led through fractions of :56.1 and 1:24.2 before sprinting home in :28.1.
Owned and bred by the Brittany Farms of Versailles, KY, On The Radar improved this year’s record to 2-1-0 in three tries with the win.
The Bob McIntosh-trained Roll On, who was making just his second start of the season and the third of his career, drew off to win his $17,000 conditioned assignment in a career-best clocking of 1:52.2. The son of Rocknroll Hanover-Please Me Please, who is 80-1 in Trot Magazine's Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book, battled through fractions of :27.1, :56.2 and 1:24.2 before being collared at the head of the lane. Randy Waples got his charge to dig back in, and Roll On used a :28-second final frame to draw away to a two-length triumph.
The homebred, who races for Lothlorien of Cheltenham, ON, is a full brother to Rock Me Please (1:50.3 - $259,007).
