Marohn backed All Spirit off the gate to settle in sixth as Bet The Ranch cut out fractions of :26.4 and :55.2 before Ubetterthink Think (Mike Micallef) tried a first over challenge reaching three quarters in 1:23.3. Marohn tipped All Spirit three-wide off cover around the last turn and paced head and head with Ubetterthink Think in the stretch to win by a nose in 1:52.1.
Tim Lanpher trains the four-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight-Spirit Of Ivy for Larry Lanpher of Winter Park, Florida. It was the second win in three starts for All Spirit, who increased her career earnings to more than $216,000, and established a new lifetime mark with the mile.
