Sunshineatthebeach jumped back up in class on Wednesday (May 21) night at Century Downs and used a pocket trip to win the $16,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred Handicap Pace.

Piloted by Phil Giesbrecht, the Travis Ellis student settled in for the ride behind Bares All (Logan Gillis), who controlled the tempo with fractions in :27.3, :56, and 1:24.3. Down the stretch, Sunshineatthebeach made her moved and pushed past Bares All to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:54.2. Beep Bop A Lula (David Kelly) completed the ticket for show.

Owned by Aurel Vodon and Trevor Williams, Sunshineatthebeach is a nine-year-old daughter of Sunshine Beach and the Shadow Play mare Yoselin Seelster. She won her fifth race of the year in 13 starts and her 29th career victory from 201 starts, banking $40,755 of her $363,100 career bankroll this year to date. She paid $7.50 to win.
