Stewardoftheland instantly shot to the front and led to the quarter in :27.3. He used a :29.3 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.1. Major Leaguer was first to make a move coming first-up going around the final turn. Stewardoftheland was first to three-quarters in 1:25.2. As they made the turn for home, Stewardoftheland found another gear and won easily in 1:53. Jericho Willie came up late to finish second. Major Leaguer was third best.
Stewardoftheland is a four-year-old gelding by Huntsville. He is owned and trained by David Koslowsky. It was his second win of 2023 and sixth victory overall. Claude Huckabone Jr. drove the $8.10 winner.
Telenovela charged late to win the featured trot.
Discus Hanover was first to the quarter in :27.4. He slowed things down with a :30.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :58. Lepanto came first up with a bid as Discus Hanover reached three-quarters in 1:27.2. As they reached the stretch, Discus Hanover still held the lead. Telenovela made her move in deep stretch, splitting horses to get the win in 1:56.4. Discus Hanover held on to finish second. Match My Miracle came up to take third.
Telenovela is a four-year-old mare by Devious Man. She is owned by the Daley Double Stable and trained by Claude Huckabone III. This was her third win of the season and 10th victory overall. Dylan Huckabone-Miller steered the $9.20 winner.
