Blazing Bobby Sox was a decisive winner Monday at Harrington Raceway in 1:52.1 in the $15,000 Delaware Special.
Owned by Art Stafford and Art Stafford, Jr., the seven-year-old Panderosa gelding left the gate in determined fashion from post six and cruised to the early lead where he would stay throughout in a front end romp over Little Ben and Machamillion N.
It was the fifth win of the season for Blazing Bobby Sox ($4.20, Art Stafford, Jr.), and 25th of his career. He had won back-to-back races to close out the Dover Downs meet in March and is closing in on $300,000 in career earnings, despite only 77 career starts.
Earlier on the card, Louis Tomczak Jr.’s Proper One ($9.40, Cody Poliseno) notched his third straight win for trainer Carlo Poliseno in 1:52.3, which equaled a new lifetime best.
Nanticoke Racing, Josh Parker and Donna Messick’s Spondulicks N ($3.20, Stafford, Jr.) improved to 2-for-2 on North American soil as the New Zealand-bred strolled to a 1:55.2 victory for trainer and co-owner Parker.
