The Last Chapter ($2.90, part of entry) took the $22,500 Williams Auto Trot late-closing series final on Sunday (May 21) afternoon at Tioga Downs.
This exciting race saw many lead changes until the top of the stretch, when the three-year-old Chapter Seven gelding took over and won with ease. The Last Chapter, driven by Drew Monti for trainer Edward Hart and owners Richard Gutnick, Joseph Lozito, Jr. and the TLP Stable, completed the mile in 1:56.2.
Royal Casanova (Jim Taggart, Jr.) rallied to take second, while TT Conway (Jim Marohn, Jr.) finished third.
Tioga Downs is dark this Friday, and returns to live action on Saturday night (May 27) at 6:50 p.m. There is a special start time of 6:50 p.m. next Sunday (May 28) night, as three-year-old trotting fillies take center stage in the New York Sire Stakes. On Memorial Day, (May 29) post time is 1:00 p.m.
