Hanover Raceway witnessed its first track record of the season during Saturday night's card of harness racing, and the horse that set the new record will make his next start for new connections

.

In the ninth race of the card, Totally Excellent was just barely sent off as the second choice in wagering. That didn`t deter driver Brad Watt from racing his horse like a favourite, grinding first up against the pacesetter Dash Board Lights before wearing him down and hitting the wire a half-length the best in 1:54.

The time of the mile shaved one-fifth of a second of Magical GG's former track standard for aged pacing geldings.

Bruce Goit trained seven-year-old Northern Luck gelding Totally Excellent for owner William Dennis McCleary of Caledonia, Ont. Totally Excellent was entering his test on Saturday night in for a $12,000 price tag, and he was claimed by Terry Fritz and Lloyd Young.
