Newcomer Wins Tioga Mares Open

Tye Loy shipped into town with newcomer Sand Windsor on Friday night and took home the featured $16,500 Fillies & Mares Open Handicap Pace

Leaving from the rail Sand Windsor worked out a perfect second over cover trip and tipped three-wide as the field passed three-quarters in 1:24.4. Down the stretch, Greg Grismore asked for more from Sand Windsor and she responded opening up on the field to score her second win of the season in 1:53.4.

The four-year-old daughter of Real Desire-Time N Again is owned by Bill Sanders of McDonald, Tennessee, and with the win increased her seasonal earnings to more than $293,000. Lickcreek Jazzy (Ed Hensley) finished second, while Leanback Coco (Phil Fluet) closed late for third.
