With Guy Gagnon in the sulky, Chat Chat fired to command from her outside post seven starting spot and carved out fractions of :28.2, :57.4 and 1:25.4 before holding off the pocket-pulling favourite, Rose Run Hooligan and Simon Allard, by half a length for the 1:55 career-best victory. The time of the mile shaved two-fifths of a second off the track record for older trotting mares, which was set by Countess Stormont. Max Money and Denis St. Pierre finished five lengths behind in third.
