Starting from post position No. 2 in the ninth race claiming handicap, HBFs Slapshot took command and bypassed each interval with Mike Mac Neill along for the ride. Without facing any serious challengers, the bay gelding rolled home in 1:56.2.
Triple Sec (Darryl Munro) rode the pocket to finish two lengths back in second while longshot Mudbog (David Dowling) came on for third.
Chantell Robertson trains and owns HBFs Slapshot, who has changed hands three separate times throughout his five-win streak. He has recorded eight wins, two seconds and two thirds in 14 outings this year. The lion's share of the $6,500 purse pushed the 25-time winner's bankroll to $109,635.
