According to an article by the Herald Sun, Harness Racing Victoria and Racing Victoria are working together after racing officials have, for the first time, uncovered evidence that EPO is available 'down under'
and has been used.
The report goes on to state that HRV and RVL have also formed a strong association with the Ontario Racing Commission, and that HRV has confirmed that Victoria Police has also assisted in the investigation.
Cameron George, HRV chairman of stewards, has stated that EPO-related information was obtained during a recent probe of a Victorian-based trainer.
"Over the past week we have conducted about 20 stable inspections and taken samples from more than 150 horses for analysis," George was quoted as saying.
