Harrington Raceway track record holder Allmar Surprise ($3.40) returned the the half-mile oval Wednesday with a sharp 1:56.2 win in the featured $16,000 Junior Open Trot

.

Owned by New York's Christopher Giaccio, the seven-year-old Angus Hall mare and trainer-driver Victor Kirby wasted little time making the lead in an opening quarter of :28.2. She then scooted to the half mile in :58-seconds and three-quarters in 1:27.1 while Sea Raven mounted her attack first over. Sea Raven was unable to significantly close the gap as Allmar Surprise marched off by four lengths in deep stretch all alone at the wire and under wraps. Sea Raven was second while Yanks finished third.

Back from competing at Dover Downs, the win was the third straight for Allmar Surprise, who holds the all-aged track record for trotting mares at Harrington (1:55.3). It was her sixth win of the season and 37th lifetime.
