St Lads Popcorn To Qualify

The time has come for the much anticipated return of pacing princess St Lads Popcorn. The daughter of Twin B Champ - Hot Butter will make her first appearance on track this coming Monday, May 4 at Mohawk Racetrack

St Lads Popcorn recorded 12 wins in 15 starts and banked over $602,000 for trainer-owner Jack Darling in her freshman season. The Ontario Sires Stakes champion won four Gold finals and the Superfinal plus three Trillium divisions. She also added the Robert Stewart Stakes to her resume. St Lads Popcorn’s accomplishments earned her divisional honours in Canada and she was presented with the HTA Nova Award in the United States last year.

The three-year-old filly will put in her first charted line of the season in the second qualifier leaving from Post 3. Regular reinsman Jason Brewer is listed to drive. St Lads Popcorn will have the chance to size up her rival Arts Star, who will put in her second qualifier of the year for trainer Casie Coleman. Mark MacDonald is scheduled to drive the daughter of Modern Art - Beach Jenny, who will leave from Post 6.
