North America Cup contender No Control took a new lifetime mark as he continued his perfect sophomore season winning a $19,000 conditioned pace on Friday night at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Fresh off his sweep of the Ontario Sired Spring Series, No Control got the first call from post two for driver Tyler Jones but gave way to the outside leaver, the season-debuting O'Brien Award runner-up Ace Of Aces (James MacDonald). The 6-5 favourite then looped back to the lead after a :27 quarter and set middle fractions of :55.3 and 1:23.3 en route to a 1:50.3 victory with Ace Of Aces chasing three-quarters of a length behind in second and Nytro J (Trevor Henry) following in third.
After hitting the board in his career debut last December, the Control The Moment-Dani Hanover gelding has been flawless, winning six races in a row for trainer Tan Micallef. The career winner of nearly $70,000 is owned by Micallef and partners Keira Liberte of Hagersville, Ont. and Ian Clarke of Guelph, Ont.
No Control paid $4.60 to win.
