Three-year-old trotters strutted their stuff in a set of $18,000 conditioned events Thursday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park, with Simcoe Seelster and Take Command winning their respective assignments.

Simcoe Seelster marched to the front from Post 10 for driver Sylvain Filion and their pair never looked back. The colt sliced through splits of :27.3, :56.4 and 1:25.1 before using a :28.4 closing quarter to win by 4-1/2 lengths over Warrawee Xenia in 1:54. Rosies War Bonds was third.

Bill ‘Jesse’ James trains the son of Royalty For Life-Simone Hall for his W G James Stables Ltd and partners John James and Deborah Aubin. It was the second win from four attempts this season for the lightly-raced youngster who pushed his lifetime earnings to $21,750 with the win.

Take Command used the same tactical approach to capture his 2022 debut performance for Team Jones. In rein to Tyler Jones, the son of Father Patrick-Ridge Speed marched to the top from Post 8 and cruised along on the front-end through panels of :28.3 :59.2 and 1:28.3. When called on to sprint, the colt complied by kicking out a :27.4 final frame which earned him the half-length decision over race favourite Grace in 1:56.2. Hershey Seelster took home the show dough.

Dustin Jones trains the sophomore for his Dustin Jones Stables Inc and partners Noblock Racing Stable, Martin Pupil and Michael Pupil. It was the second career victory for the winner of $26,050.
